i voted today....

did YOU?

i wont say exactly how i voted, although i can assume that most of you could make pretty good educated guesses... but i will say that i really really hope that amendment 2 passes. for too long we've been bombarded with rediculous ads and billboards against this amendment. i hope that people actually took time to read the amendment instead of believing what the media threw at them.

here's a billboard that i snapped a while ago...

i like their use of the word 'harvest'...ugh... they make it sound as if we're going to start making abortion farms or something..."we grow the best stem cells in town!"

I'm pleased that you read the amendment. :) I did a presentation on stem cell research last year for my Medical Ethics class and was well aware of the history behind this amendment and why it was even necessary.

Pretty frustrating how it has been skewed by some. How is it even legal?

I read Amendment 2 all the way through also--just like the opponents were saying that we should. Don't be fooled by the summary language they said--dig into the fine print. When I did that it was was clear that it was just trying to insure that Missouri would not dis-allow whatever was allowable (or would be allowable in the future) under federal law. It was sad that such a thing would have to be done by amendment.

By the way, why didn't the tobacco tax amendment pass? That one is a mystery to me.
