in a nutshell...
* i've been working a lot of 1o-12 hour days lately, and it's been pretty exhausting. there are days when i clock in at 5:30 and dont clock out until 6. but for the most part, i'm enjoying my job. at the very least i'll be enjoying my sweet overtime-laden paychecks.
*i'm scheduled to take my cdl test this friday. i dont really feel prepared, per se, but i think i can muddle through. i'm still deciding what approach to take; dress up and appear cute so they assume i dont know anything (and are thus wowed buy my knowledge), or wear a pair of coveralls and have grease under my nails so they assume i know everything (thus not asking as many questions). i'm more inclined towards the cute approach.
* i need to start taking my camera on these van trips. i've been to a lot of different places, and each town has its own hidden treasures. i like the mennonite bakeries and general stores in tipton and versailles, the tasty shrimp bisque in laurie, the russel stover outlet in boonville, the cute little tea room in warsaw, the list goes on... most of the drives are really pleasant, and there's a lot of great scenery.
*my time at this house is quickly winding down. july 31st seemed so far away, and now its just around the corner. i'll be glad to see this house go; cant say i liked it too much. i bought a portable washing machine for my new apartment, and have started the process of picking through what i have, deciding what i need and what i dont. i'm hoping to make this move relatively painless, or at least much easier than my last move...
*i think somehow i may have developed allergies, specifically to cats. the past two times i've been to laura's house (and her cats have been out) i've left with itchy eyes and a runny nose. this is a great disappointment, and i hope i'm mistaken.
*i recently watched the movie into the wild, and was glad that it wasnt as much of a cautionary tale as i thought it would be. i have no desire to abandon my life and live off the land, but the movie did make me want to appreciate nature and the outdoors a bit more than i have. the movie had a great soundtrack too; glad to hear that eddie vedder is still out there.
*now that it isnt raining every other day, i've been trying to get on my bike more often. ideally i'd like to be able to bike to work every day, but i may wait until i get my cdl and i'm not on the van as much. also, i'll need a helmet.
*i've also made the decision to start doing medical coding classes, but once again i'm waiting until i get my cdl and i'm not so exhausted all of the time. i'll probably start in july.
